FAQ

Got a question about Carvana? Check out our Frequently Asked Questions!

1. I see there are so many benefits for using Carvana, what are the disadvantages?
Many people like to touch, feel, and sit in cars as part of the social aspect of shopping. Unfortunately, this is not possible with Carvana as customers will not be able to see the physical car until they are picking up the car from the vending machine.

2. What about test driving?
Test driving is possible, but additional arrangements must be made between your client and yourself to retrieve the car to be put back in the vending machine. (Carvana, n.d.)

3. What if customers have questions?
With a fully functioning, interactive website, customers can use online tools for most of their needs. However, if a customer has a question, customers can send an email to you or message you via a live chat. If customers want to speak with someone at your company, your contact centre can be there to answer any questions they may have. Even though salespeople will not be available to answer questions in person, there are plenty of ways for customers reach out to you should they need help.

4. Carvana seems great! How can I start selling cars?
Similar to other dealerships, you will need to have your dealership licensed in order to start using Carvana. In some countries there are laws that prevent you from opening a new dealership in a territory with an existing dealership. Please your local government for more information. (Robles, 2015)

5. Since Carvana would eliminate the need for a bricks and mortar dealership, what should I be aware of before converting my car dealership entirely online?
With everything done online, including financials, the website you operate for your car dealership must be kept safe with necessary firewalls and proper encryption protocols. Any holes in the system will result in a substantial risk of having customer's personal information leaked to unauthorized users
